Captain & NY State Guide Forrest Weyrauch

I am Captain and New York State guide, Forrest Weyrauch, a native of New York raised along the East Branch of the Delaware River. My upbringing was deeply rooted in the tranquil beauty of the Catskills Mountains, greatly influenced by my great grandfather, Buck, who was the very first individual to be granted a New York State guide license. It is a privilege to follow in his footsteps and honor his legacy. From a young age on, I immersed myself in fishing and hunting, developing a profound love for the sport that evolved into a true passion. Despite initially pursuing a career in construction that took me across fifteen states along the East Coast, contributing to a variety of projects ranging from bridges and highways to natural gas pipelines, my heart continued to yearn for the true thrill of the great outdoors. In 2015, at the age of 25, I made a pivotal decision to transition from construction to dedicate myself fully to my lifelong passions. By obtaining my New York State guide license, I then laid the groundwork for Rugged Pine Outfitters, an all-encompassing outfitter situated along the Upper Delaware River system. Our focus lies in fly fishing for trout and smallmouth bass, spin fishing for walleye and striped bass, as well as waterfowl hunting, marking the completion of a life long dream . I am excited to share my enthusiasm for fishing ,hunting and nature with you. I extend a warm invitation to join me on an unforgettable adventure, where we can forge lasting memories while exploring the abundant waters and untamed wilderness of upstate New York together.
